# Alcatel-Lucent OXO

## How Voice Logica connects

The OXO **registers a SIP trunk to Voice Logica** ([way 1](https://docs.voicelogica.ai/phone-systems/#the-four-ways-voice-logica-connects)) as a public SIP gateway in OMC. Voice Logica creates the trunk and gives you a server, a username and a password.

- Calls the OXO routes to this gateway (ARS prefix) are answered by the AI agent.
- The agent transfers callers back over the same trunk; the OXO rings the extension through its public numbering plan (DDI).

Without an IP trunks licence, the OXO can instead take Voice Logica as a SIP extension through an [edge device](https://docs.voicelogica.ai/telephony/edge-device/) (way 2). The OXO's SIP extensions listen on port **5059**.

## Before you start

- An **IP trunks** licence: OMC → **Hardware and Limits → Software Key Features**.
- Enough VoIP-trunk channels: **Voice Over IP → VoIP: Parameters**. A Warm transfer uses two until it connects.

## 1. Create the connection in Voice Logica

**Telephony - Trunks - Connect your PBX**, pick **Alcatel-Lucent OXO** and the agent. Keep the dialog open until it says **Connected**.

## 2. Configure the OXO in OMC

1. **External Lines → List of Accesses**: make the VoIP trunk channels public trunks; add them to a trunk group in **External Lines → List of Trunk Groups**.
2. **Numbering → Automatic Routing Selection → Index of Gateway Parameters**: **Target Domain Name** = the server, **Default Transport Mode** UDP, **Registration** = Requested, **Registrar Name** = the server, **Port** 5060, **Expiration Time** 3600, **DTMF** = Out-of-Band (RFC 4733).
3. **SIP Accounts**: **Login** and **Registered User Name** = the username, **Password** = the password.
4. **Voice Over IP → VoIP: Parameters → Codecs**: G.711 A-law first.

## 3. Send calls to the agent

**Numbering → Automatic Routing Selection**: a prefix whose destination is this gateway and trunk group. Point an attendant group overflow, a DDI or an after-hours destination at that prefix.

## 4. Let the agent transfer back to extensions

Map incoming numbers from the trunk to extensions in the **public numbering plan** (DDI). Then, in Voice Logica, add the extensions as transfer destinations: an **External** destination with the extension number, or a **User** with that extension. Use **Warm** transfer.

## 5. Check it works

- The dialog says **Connected**; the trunk's **SIP logs** in Voice Logica show each REGISTER and our reply.
- Dial the ARS prefix from an extension: the call appears in **Calls**.

## Good to know

- Static NAT on the OXO needs release R10 or later; on older releases use an [edge device](https://docs.voicelogica.ai/telephony/edge-device/).
- These steps follow a carrier's OXO guide; menu names can differ by release. Your Alcatel business partner can confirm them.
