# Set up the Windows app

The Windows app is the desktop client: you place and take calls from your computer, and see recent conversations, contacts and tasks without opening the browser. During a call you get live transcription and AI suggestions on the same screen. Your administrator turned it on for you.

1. **Download the installer.** [Download for Windows](https://api.voicelogica.ai/desktop/windows-installer).

2. **Install.** Open the downloaded file and finish the installation. If Windows shows a blue warning, click **More info** and then **Run anyway**.

3. **Sign in.** Open the app and sign in with your Voice Logica email and password.

4. **Allow the microphone.** Allow microphone access when asked. You can now place and take calls from your computer. A headset gives the best audio.

## Troubleshooting

**I do not know my password**

On the sign-in screen click **Forgot password** and follow the email.

**The app says I have no access**

Your administrator has not turned the Windows app on for you yet. Ask them to switch it on.

**The other person cannot hear me**

Check that Windows allows the app to use the microphone: **Settings - Privacy & security - Microphone**. Then pick the right microphone in your sound settings and call again.

**I lost the email**

Ask your administrator to send it again, or download the installer from the link in step 1.

## For administrators

**Telephony - Active directory**, click the Windows icon next to the person and switch **Device access** on. Under **Send the setup**, click **Email** or **SMS**.
